I just wanted to post this picture of Dita Von Teese in a 50s style sundress. Gorgeous, and super flattering on her. She really pulls this off, even though it *kind* of reminds me of the curtain clothes the children wore in the Sound of Music!

Announcement

Its likely that I won't be posting as regularly as I have in the past, for a while at least, because my two year relationship with my boyfriend has recently come to an end. This is a hard time for me, and I'm slowly adjusting to life as a single person and doing things for myself, and by myself. I hope to use this time to expand my blog's content, as well as some other things, as blogging is a hobby which I very much enjoy.

So during this difficult time of change for me, please bear with me, and check back occasionally for any new posts. I will continue reading other blogs, which I do on a regular basis, and commenting on them as per usual.

Here's a random Q and A to break things up a bit :)

I can't remember where I found this.. So I might make this into a tag, and ask that anyone who reads it, please do it, and comment me if you do so I can check it out!

A: What accessories do you wear everyday?
My thin gold chain with a 'H' charm and a small gold owl charm on it, simple earrings of some sort, and either my Pandora, or engraved ID bracelet. This is just for work, weekdays I jazz things up a bit more!

B: What is your beauty routine?
Showering regulary! I use Cetaphil cleanser twice a day because I have sensitve skin, and find it works well. Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. This is the best eye makeup remover I've come accross, at such a great price!

Right now I'm using a Nivea moisturiser, as well as Megan Gale Vitamin A Boosting Serum, because I have a few dry patches from the cold weather. I've recently ordered some Mario Badescu skincare online, so that will change when it arrives!

If I get blackheads, I use sudocrem. You may also know this as nappy rash cream stocked at Woolworths and Priceline. Do not diss this until you try it! It works wonders :)

C: What was the last item of clothing (for yourself) that you purchased?
Today I purchased this Stiped Long Sleeve Cardi from Witchery. Instead of grey, it has navy and cream stripes. It was on sale for $49.95, and I love it!





I also bought some Bonds underwear and a tank top, both featuring owls! Love them.


D: Do you use a dresser, closet, or both?
I keep all my clothes (that aren't piled up on my chair/beanbag) in my closet, and some in the drawers inside my wardrobe.

E: What type of earrings are in your ears right now? None! Just took them out, before I had some lovely gold owl ones.

F: What type of figure do you have (measurements)?
I don't know any measurements.. I'm kind of short (5"2), and curvy, but not overweight.


G: Do you wear glasses?
Yes! I also wear contacts, more often than glasses actually.

H: What type of handbag do you carry?
I have a couple on rotation. Usually I use a tan oversized one, which I can fit everything in. Today I switched over to my Louis Vuitton Speedy, which I haven't used in a while.

I: What is your ideal style?
Simple, Girly and Casual usually. I love mixing textures and patterns, and mixing plain with details.

J: What is your favorite brand of jeans?
I don't have a particular favourite brand. I don't buy ones that are too expensive as I change my tastes far too often! Right now I have on rotation a pair from Sportsgirl, Lee, Bettina Liano, and Jeans West.

K: Do you wear knee-high stockings?
No! Not since school. Actually, occasionally I do at work, if I'm wearing pants with some shoes that need them.

L: Do you *have* to wear matching lingerie?
No, I love mixing and matching.

M: Do you wear makeup?
Definitely! I don't wear foundation everyday, as I like to give my skin a break. When I do, I use Everyday Minerals in Semi-Matt, Nars Orgasm Blush, Benefit High Beam, Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara (Its my new HG!), MAC eyeshadows, the colours vary, and MAC fluidline. Oh and MAC Lipglass.

N: Do you wear nightgowns?
In the warmer months sometimes, I have a few from Peter Alexander which I love.

O: What outerwear do you put on when going out on a typical winter’s day?
I have a few coats and cardis I like.. One is a Cream Wish Trench from last season, another is a Tailored Black Pea Coat from a brand I randomly came accross and don't remember the brand. I have a few knits from various brands which I use for layering. It hasn't got too cold yet, I'm waiting for it to though!

P: What is your favorite perfume?
Miss Dior Cherie, and Vera Wang Princess.

Q: Is your motto “quality over quantity” when it comes to clothing and accessories?
As long as they are staple peices which will last the trends and are practical, definitely quality.

R: Do you wear rain boots?
No.. I wouldn't even know where to buy them!

S: Do you wear socks or slippers when your feet get cold? I wear socks nearly 24x7.. I can't stand having bare feet, even in summer. At least I have silky soft smooth feet though. If its cold I'll wear slippers too, but only at home.

T: Do you have a set of travel luggage?
No, I just use the family's set of suitcase.

U: What is your daily uniform?
Just general corporate gear for work.

V: If you are married, did you wear a veil with your wedding dress? I don't like the idea of the veil that covers the face and everything. But a lovely headpeace or something like that attached to my hair and hanging down the back.. Yes indeed. Sorry, I don't know the correct terms!

W: Do you wear a watch?
No.

X: What item of clothing always makes you feel beautiful?
It varies, I have several 'bad day' outfits that never fail to pick me up.

Y: What is your favorite type of yarn?
Erm. Wool? I like cotton though.

Z: Do you prefer zippers or buttons? Zips on pants/jeans, buttons on shirts and cardis.

A note.

I recently received a rather nasty comment (which I chose not to publish), telling me that I was being insensitive, unfair, and other such things, because I had posted a RIP post for Farrah Fawcett, but not for Michael Jackson.

Any death is sad and unexpected, and can cause a range of emotions, even if you did not know the deceased personally. Some may argue that Farrah's passing was expected, and she was 'older', so therefore not as deserving of publicity as Michael Jackson's unexpected and tragic death, and he had given so much to Entertainment industry, rather than someone like Farrah, who had been famous as an icon in the 70s.

I am not about to compare two deaths. I am very sorry for the passing of MJ, but I am not going to adjust my posts under pressure from others. If you search google, 58,400,000
results appear from 'Michael Jackson Death', but only 6,700,000 for 'Farrah Fawcett Death'.

My whole point is that I cannot begin to compare death. I posted a RIP for Farrah, because I was particularly fond of her from the 70s, but was not so much a fan of Michael Jackson, though I did amire him for his success. I write my blog for a hobby, not to please my readers (however, I am SUPER greatful that you do bother to visit, and leave comments - you keep me motivated).
